You can get involved with fundraising events, in hospital programs such as the Express Room, Livewire, Wish granting or you can donate your professional skills. Other opportunities include putting your public speaking skills to good use as a community speaker, or furthering your career with an internship at Australian Multicultural Charity Australia. We provide you with essential training, either face-to-face or online, so you’ll be equipped to have a positive experience.

Please note: With the exception of helping at events, our volunteer opportunities require an ongoing weekly or monthly commitment. If you’re not currently in a position to commit your time on an ongoing basis, there are many other ways you can support Australian Multicultural Charity Australia.

VOLUNTEER AS A COMMUNITY SPEAKER

YOU’LL BE A “AUSBASSADOR!”

Australian Multicultural Charity Australia receives many requests from schools, Colleges, Universities, community groups and interested organisations for speakers to explain what we do for children and their families. We ask our AUSbassadors to attend these events and speak on behalf of Australian Multicultural Charity Australia..

 As a AUSbassador, you’ll use your presentation and public speaking skills to promote the work Australian Multicultural Charity Australia does. You’ll be a true advocate for a wonderful cause, engaging new supporters for Australian Multicultural Charity Australia..

 AUSbassadors are confident public speakers, often with their own  story to tell, who have been trained especially for the role. They also take the initiative, seeking public speaking opportunities within their local community.

THEY’RE A WHOLE LOT OF FUN!

Our Australian Multicultural Charity Australia events are colourful, lively and always a lot of fun.

Each event is unique – you could find yourself collecting donations, helping set up, selling merchandise or welcoming attendees at one of our more formal, signature events.

Whatever your role, you’ll be surrounded by a wonderful volunteer community who are friendly, warm and love meeting new people.

Volunteers are essential to the success of our fundraising events and functions – we couldn’t do it without you.

VOLUNTEER IN OUR OFFICE

A GREAT WAY TO HELP

We welcome office and general administration volunteers to help us in each of our offices around the country.

You can help by regularly supporting specific teams, being assigned to a project or event, or by being ‘on call’ to come and help when needed!

We’re always on the lookout for people who have some or all of the following skills:

Database entry

MS Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Great phone manner

General office tasks: laminating, binding, photocopying, sorting, counting stock, etc

Sorting mail, Reception

We provide clear instructions for each task and there’s always someone nearby to answer questions or help. We don’t expect our admin volunteers to be experts, just willing to learn and committed to helping the team.

Australian Multicultural Charity Australia professional voluntary internships are informative, interactive and involve tasks that develop your skills in a professional setting.

As an  intern, you’ll be volunteering your time to assist our talented team to achieve business outcomes while learning new skills and insights in your chosen area.

Strengthen your CV, build networks, gain new perspectives and perhaps even discover your passion!

Timeframes for internships vary, depending on your interests and availability. Where possible.

A comprehensive recruitment process is conducted to ensure the internship will be a mutually beneficial opportunity. Detailed position descriptions are created for every intern.

Please note:

Australian Multicultural Charity Australia works closely with a range of tertiary education providers who offer internship opportunities to their students. Some internship positions will only be open to students from a particular education provider.
